Re: First signs of season

My daughter just received the most charming little book, Monsters You Should Know by Emma SanCartier. She paid about $10 for it on Amazon. It is a beautifully illustrated children's book, but the content is drawn from folklore around the world. We both loved it. She said it is a good example of "cu...

Aww, such sweet memories!

That one cat looks pretty fierce, Andy!
She will reach out and slice you open if you walk close enough, I kid you not.

Hendryx will jump up on your shoulders and perch there, purring and rubbing his head all over you.

Angel and daemon incarnate.

Re: What made you mad today?

Lol. That's one way to look at it. Never having lived in intense winter areas, I can get a bit wistful about it. Ha! I live in a coastal valley, 300' above sea level and we've had record snow fall the past 3 winters. It's not normal, and 'wistful' is not the word that comes to mind. The photo is of...

Re: First signs of season

Order from Amazon, choose gift wrap and pick orange or black paper.

Even though you know what it is, it's still fun.

Re: The Pet Talk

They both wandered in off of the streets, separately, as kittens and 'claimed' their places in the household.

Hendryx was small enough to fit in the palm of a hand, and could fit underneath the gap of the doors.

I agree. Those dogs are too cute for words, but I would like to see some cats.

Mike

Here you go.

The gigantic blob is Bagheera; she despises me and I, her.

The one who thinks he's invisible is Hendryx.

He loves everybody.

Re: Happy 4th of July!

We had a family pot luck today.

Grilled chicken, mac salad, baked beans...everything.

I'm laying down in front of the TV in a food coma.

Re: 4th of July

Andy, I am familiar with the Adams miniseries and think the book on which it was based is even better. It reads like a novel. In an interview, McCullough, who has written about several presidents, was asked who he thought was the best. Without hesitation, he responded, "George Washington, because h...

Re: Halloween Mucis on Vinyl

Alison Krauss is the female lead singer for Union Station, the group on the O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack. Here is one of my favorite tracks from Live, Forget About It https://www.google.com/search?kgmid=/m/0ngrdt&hl=en-US&kgs=270eab1fd3b0b743&q=alison+krauss+%26+union+station+forget+about+it&...

Re: Halloween Mucis on Vinyl

Alison Krauss is a fantastically talented artist, and is the top Grammy winning female artist with 27 wins.

Even if you can't find the vinyl I recommend buying the 2-disc set of Alison Krauss & Union Station Live.

Re: Halloween Mucis on Vinyl

My brother is heavily into vinyl and often times will come across a novelty.

This is from the early eighties a group from Down Under called Split Enz that features their hit song 'I Got You', the laser etching has no effect whatsoever on the sound quality, it just looks cool on the turntable.

Re: 4th of July

I think I got you beat Andy. Here's my place last 4th of July. I had just got my Hue lights and found some appropriate images for my computer monitors. I think I was watching 'The American Revolution' mini-series from 2006 at the time. https://i.imgur.com/CAFjqN0.jpg That looks all right if you're ...
