Re: Make Halloween Great Again!!

last night was our adult Halloween party at a friend's house on a big farm in the middle of nowhere (made the bonfire on a chilly night kinda creepy!), today we're taking the kids to "Halloween Nights" at a local family fun place, Grant's Farm. Keeping the Halloween fun going all weekend. As far as...

Re: Make Halloween Great Again!!

this weekend was the first truly fall-like weekend around here in STL, we spent a completely perfect afternoon with the boys at one of the local pumpkin patch fall festivals - it was overcast and about 55 degrees, with a chilly breeze blowing around while the boys played in the hay maze forts and "c...

Re: OK. I'm officially confused!

that sounds amazing right now! Supposedly we're going to be in that weather pattern within a week to 10 days, perfect timing for breaking out the decor, but I'm crossing my fingers after this summer of hot blech.

Re: OK. I'm officially confused!

oh, that's for sure us right now, too. The high today is supposed to be 92 and humid (*insert gagging sounds*). But the forecast for next Saturday night has some gorgeous temperatures, perfect for an early firepit night.

Re: OK. I'm officially confused!

Ha! apparently, when the "marriage" ended, I was able to quickly log back in with my "real" account! Yay! also, its going to be low-50's at night here in St. Louis in a week! and I've seen FIVE locals already decorating their yards in the past week!! I love Halloween!! and exclamation points!!! Ok, ...

Re: Dot room

do you mean simply having glow-in-the-dark paint dots on the walls? For something non-angular (for angular the best is just using green "frog" tape) its best to create a stencil and paint/spray away. Size and number of dots are going to determine just how long of a process it is

Re: Where oh where has everyone gone!!!

hello all, its time for a once-a-year-check in (while I've been a faithful lurker for over a decade now, wow!) I was motivated to check in today due to our weather in STL - cloudy, chilly, occasional light rain; makes me think less of spring and more of fall. That must mean that its time for me to s...

Re: Your best Halloween memory?

I have different favorite memories for different times in my life (fyi, I'm 37). - from childhood, its growing up as an elementary school kid of the '80's and the great trick r treating nights of that awesome decade - jack 'o lanterns on every patio (but not a lot of other store-bought decorations!...

Re: Favorite Fast Food

Does "5 Guys" count as "fast food"? if so, that's the best fast food burger and its not even close. for a sandwich shop, I'm in a deep love affair with Firehouse Subs. For traditional fast food, sometimes a good Taco Bell regular beef taco is perfect. When it comes to breakfast, Hardee's (or Carl's ...

Its now mid-June, which is JUST about when I start getting the start of the itch (I know, i know, they make meds for that), so checking back in for the first time in a few months. I'm already scouring summer sales on Halloween online stor...

Re: It's cold out

We usually fantasize about the same thing, but this year for our 10th anniversary I'm taking my wife down to the Dominican Republic for 4 days in the sun & sand! By the time I get back, I'll probably have had all of the heat & humidity I want for the year :D

Re: It's cold out

we're up to the mid-70's here in St. Louis. This is officially the time of year that I LOVE the warmth & sunshine and emerging green everything. It'll stay that way until sometime in late July - at that point, I'll begin longing for cool fall weather and jack 'o lanterns :)

Re: Whatcha watchin right now?

I read your reply this morning while bundled up from the 40 degree temps around here. Even for early October in the midwest, this is cold. Yesterday took the 2 year old to a local corn maze & hayride, it was 50 degrees, sunny & breezy, smelled like Halloween. perfection.

Re: Whatcha watchin right now?

the big difference between "Haunted History of Halloween" and "The Real Story of Halloween" is the production value. One looks like a no-frills doc from 1997, the other one is a HD-and-CGI suped up 2010 doc. If you've seen something like "America: the Story of Us", think in terms of that "feel". Its...
