I picked it up this morning on the way to work.

I had to leave it in the car so I wouldn't be tempted to read it at my desk, but I'm gonna dig in when I get home! :D :D

I flipped thru it though and saw some cool stuff. I would love to get some back issues, I saw some on eBay that I may sneak and buy with my own money LOL

I just got it this weekend!! There are some really good ideas in here. I like the glittered bones. It gave me an idea. I pulled out some of my old funkins and gave them a make over!! It worked out beautifully!!! I was planning on throwing a couple of them away because they had started to flake off some color. Not any more!

I love her Halloween magazine! The very first one I bought, maybe the 1999 edition?, is where I found my bat silhouette template. I still have all my bats from back then! Another idea came from her 2007 magazine, pages 18 and 19 of the "Bad Things" section. They're templates for a jack-o-lantern and cat that you cut out of heavy weight black cardstock (I used posterboard). Tape a piece of 18-guage wire to the back of your cut-out. Make sure the wire is long enough because you'll loop the other end of if around a candle holder. Bend the wire so your cut-out is positioned behind the lip of the glass. Also, make sure the candleholder is taller than the candle so the flame is kept away from your cut-out. When you light your candle, the light will cast some really cool shadows against the wall. You can also use a battery-powered candle if you want to be really safe. I made this, but with a slight variation. After cutting out my jack-o-lantern, I taped orange tissue paper to the back. Then I attached my cut-out to a thin dowel rod that I painted black. I painted small wooden candlestick holders (the kind you find at any arts and crafts store) black. I then secured the dowel rods attached to my cut-outs into the candelstick holders. They sit on top of my corner hutch, flanking each side of a Halloween picture. I have a string of orange lights laying all over the top of the hutch. When lit, it sets off a nice glow. Martha Stewart has so many great ideas, appealing to all different tastes. Even if you don't like the "creepy," over-the-top Halloween decorations, and just love the season and not even Halloween itslef, you can find something in her magazine. And you don't even have to make her projects exactly as she has them -- you can just use her ideas as inspiration. You can also go to her website for ideas if you don't buy the magazine.
